Smart City - Street Light Management System

Key Points:

1. Lights on the poles on the highway/street will be controlled in auto mode for switching it ON/OFF. In auto mode, light will be controlled automatically with sensing the ambience light or by clock timing based controls from IOT web portal.

2. Energy meter will be placed at a group level and its electrical parameters will be pushed over cloud server for logic generation. Lights allocation will be approximately 468 Lights grouped over 10 junction boxes. Per light wattage is 196W. Among all the groups, maximum lights over one pole can be 80.

3. Controller and complete system will be mounted in a panel which in turn will be mounted on electric pole or at some outdoor points. Device will be able to bear with the external environment, temperature, humidity, Dust levels persisting in Delhi NCR area.

4. The contactors are rated to bear with almost double the value of current passing through the junction in present state.



5. Device communicates with cloud to send/receive data in every 20Secs from below. Parameters include incoming power current, Energy reading, Photo sensor reading. Readings will be saved on cloud with time stamps and it can be accessed through IOT dashboard. Device will have its own internet based on SIM.

6. Hard Bypass switch will be provided to forced ON/OFF the Street lights at device location manually but the readings will still be communicated with cloud. Status will be updated on dashboard if it is forced switched.

7. Choice will be available on IOT dashboard to set switching of lights either with time based control or photo sensor value based control.

8. The meters will be approved by relevant authority so that the electricity board accepts the meter reading.


Calibration mode:

lights switching can be calibrated based on photo sensor value. It can be calibrated @ individual junction box level by an authorized person / by the vendor through IOT dashboard remotely as well as can be calibrated locally by IOT dashboard with limited access using QR code. It can calibrated with photo sensor value for night time (to ON Street Light) and morning time (to OFF Street light).

Current level based alerting:

The power consumption can vary as the pillar light units age. The usual current / power taken by the group of pillar lights when switched on and in a stable glow status, the level of power consumed is recorded and stored on cloud with time stamps. (This power consumption is compared with the regular power consumption to detect if any of the lights are fuse & hence the power consumption for the group has reduced)

Warranty:

The system provided should have a life of minimum 8 years whereas the warranty against any manufacturing or design defects needs to be covered for one year. - The warranty would be on site, in case the fault is not resolved through parts replacements within stipulated time. - Free pre-paid SIMs & Cloud hosting for one year

Training & guidance:

Training needs to be provided to relevant staff and technicians through face to face or remote sessions in groups. User manual for the system needs to be supplied along with the system. For 6 months, the fixing of the fault assistance would be provided on site- or off site, in case the fault is not resolved through parts replacements within stipulated time with the offsite efforts, this needs to be attended with being on site. - Any bugs, if found in the software would need to be resolved within stipulated time.

NET-O-BOX, IOT cloud server control : the world via Internet

NET-O-BOX, it is an IOT based telemetry control and monitoring system which can be used to switch home appliances and industrial devices from any place on the globe. It makes use of Internet to receive and send control codes. Control codes are stored and accessed on cloud server. For protection, each user will be provided with login id and password to access his GCP (Graphical Control Panel) at cloud server to control devices. GCP is a user friendly online panel to control NET-O-BOX. It will be provided with two switching method, first using internet and second using simple ON/OFF switch. It means user can switch the device with his smart phone as well as another person can switch it directly from the switches on NET-O-BOX. Since it performs two way communications (means device to server and vice versa), the current status of the device will also be updated on the GCP as the device will be switched. The available status of NET-O-BOX is DEVICE ON, DEVICE OFF & DEVICE OFFLINE. User can add any number of NET-O-BOX in his premises to switch multiple devices; with the addition of every NET-O-BOX in single premises, all such NET-O-BOX will be available on a single GCP. No installation is required for NET-O-BOX, neither in smart phone (no additional application is required to install in your smart phone or laptop, since it is platform independent) nor at your home in hardware (since it is plug & play device). Any number of members can control the same series of NET-O-BOX by sharing same user id & password.
